Establishment of women and youth vegetable growing groups.
of Vegetable seeds to women and youth groups.45 youth and 15 women were trained in vegetable production skills. 5 mini-irrigation treadle pumps were provided for the groups to share during dry spell vegetable production. Vegetables are very scarce in Narus because they have to be imported from Kenya at a cost of 10 South Sudanese pounds per piece. Therefore the achievement in the formation and training of these groups will not only provide opportunities for improvement of household cash economy but also the nutritional value especially among children less than 5 years, and lactating mothers.
